The construction cost index of residential buildings remained unchanged from December 2008 to January 2009. From January 2008 to January 2009 the costs rose by 3.4 per cent.

The construction costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood increased by 3.9 and 3.2 per cent from January last year to January this year, respectively. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 4.6 per cent, while detached houses of wood increased by 2.2 per cent in the same period.
