The construction cost index of residential buildings remained unchanged from February to March this year. From March 2008 to March 2009 the cost increased by 2.8 per cent.

The construction cost of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood rose by 3.0 and 2.7 per cent respectively from March 2008 to March 2009. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses increased by 2.8 per cent, while detached houses of wood rose by 1.2 per cent.
