Construction costs up 0.3 per cent

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.3 per cent from September to October this year. The material costs rose by 0.7 per cent in the same period.

From September to October this year the construction costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses increased by 0.4 and 0.1 per cent respectively. The material costs of detached houses of wood rose by 0.8 per cent, while the costs of multi-dwelling houses increased by 0.5 per cent.

From October 2008 to October 2009 the construction costs of residential buildings rose by 2.1 per cent. The material costs increased by 0.9 per cent in the same period. Construction costs of detached houses of wood rose by 2.6 per cent, while multi-dwelling houses rose by 1.2 per cent.
