Construction costs up 0.5 per cent

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.5 per cent from March to April this year. The material costs rose by 1.0 per cent in the same period.

From March to April this year, the construction costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses increased by 0.5 and 0.4 per cent respectively. The material costs rose by 1.0 and 0.7 per cent.

From April 2009 to April 2010, the construction costs of detached houses of wood increased by 3.5 per cent, while the costs of multi-dwelling houses rose by 3.0 per cent.
