Construction costs up 3.6 per cent

The construction costs for residential buildings increased by 3.6 per cent from December 2009 to December 2010. The material costs rose by 3.5 per cent in the same period.

From December 2009 to December 2010, construction costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses both increased by 3.6 per cent. The material costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses rose by 3.6 and 3.5 per cent respectively.

The construction costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling both increased by 0.1 per cent from November to December last year.
