Increase in construction costs

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.5 per cent from December 2010 to January 2011. The material costs rose by 0.7 per cent in the same period.

From December last year to January this year, the construction cost of multi-dwelling houses increased by 0.7 per cent. The costs of detached houses of wood rose by 0.4 per cent in the same period. From January 2010 to January 2011 the costs of multi-dwelling houses and detached houses of wood increased by 4.1 and 3.9 per cent respectively.
