Construction costs up 0.5 per cent

The construction costs of residential buildings increased by 0.5 per cent from October to November this year. Labour costs rose by 1.4 per cent, while material costs remained unchanged.

Wage statistics for the third quarter of 2011 are included in the construction costs of November 2011, and are the main reason for the cost increase from October.

From November 2010 to November 2011, the construction costs of detached houses of wood and multi-dwelling houses rose by 3.6 and 3.8 per cent respectively.
