House prices up 2.8 per cent the last quarter
House prices increased by 2.8 per cent from the first quarter to the second quarter of 2005, and are now 9.2 per cent higher than in the second quarter of 2004. Adjusted for seasonal variations, house prices increased by 2.1 per cent the last quarter.
Prices of detached houses increased by 3.2 per cent during the last quarter, while prices of row houses and flats increased by 2.6 and 1.1 per cent respectively.
Prices up 12.6 per cent in Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim
From the second quarter of 2004 to the second quarter of 2005 house prices increased the most in Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim, by 12.6 per cent. Prices of detached houses increased by 12.8 per cent in this price zone during the last year, while prices of row houses and flats increased by 11.9 and 12.7 per cent respectively.
House prices in Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim have increased by 63.6 per cent from the first quarter of 2000. The average price growth for the country as a whole has been 42.1 per cent during the same period. In Oslo and Bærum, prices have increased by 34.4 per cent from the first quarter of 2000.
Notar AS included in the House Price Index
From the second quarter of 2005 data from Notar AS is included in the House Price Index. With that sale through all of the largest real estate agencies in Norway is included in the index.
A total of 19 804 sales are used in the calculation of the price index.
