House prices increased

House prices increased on average by 2.8 per cent from the first to the second quarter of 2011.

House price index for detached houses in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. 1st quarter 1992 = 100

House price index by house type. 1st quarter 1992 = 100

Prices for flats in blocks and row houses increased by respectively 2.0 and 1.7 per cent from the first to the second quarter of 2011. During the same period the prices of detached houses increased by 3.6 per cent.

South Eastern Norway and Trøndelag excluding Trondheim had the strongest growth in house prices in the last quarter, with 5.1 and 5.0 per cent respectively.

Strongest growth in Trøndelag last year

House prices increased by 7.4 per cent from the second quarter of 2010 to the second quarter of 2011. Among the major cities, Trondheim had the strongest growth in house prices with 12.4 per cent. Outside the major cities, the rest of Trøndelag was the region with the strongest growth in house prices in the same period with 8.8 per cent.

A total of 23 677 house sales are used in the index computation for the second quarter of 2011.
