House prices up 2.9 per cent
Prices of second hand dwellings increased by 2.9 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2001 to the first quarter of 2002. The prices increased by 6.7 per cent from the first quarter of 2001 to the first quarter of 2002.
The final figures from Statistics Norway show that house prices increased in all price zones from the fourth quarter of 2001 to the first quarter of 2002. Prices of flats increased the most, by 4.6 per cent. Prices of detached houses and row houses increased by 2.0 and 3.6 per cent respectively, during the same period of time.
Prices increased the most in Oslo and Bærum
In Oslo and Bærum, house prices rose by 5.9 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2001 to the first quarter of 2002. In Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim, the prices increased by 1.6 per cent. In Akershus exclusive Bærum, and the rest of the country, prices increased by 1.4 and 2.5 per cent respectively.
Prices of flats increased the most during the last year
Prices of second hand dwellings increased by 6.7 per cent from the first quarter of 2001 to the first quarter of 2002. In Oslo and Bærum and Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim, prices rose by 6.9 per cent. During the same period of time, prices in the rest of Akershus and the rest of the country increased by 6.5 and 6.6 per cent respectively. Prices of flats increased the most, by 8.2 per cent, while detached houses and row houses increased by 6.2 and 6.7 per cent.
A total of 5 277 sales have been used in the calculation of the price index.
