House prices up 4.4 per cent
Prices of second hand dwellings increased by 4.4 per cent from the first to the second quarter of 2002. The prices increased by 6.4 per cent from the second quarter of 2001 to the second quarter of 2002.
The final figures from Statistics Norway show that house prices increased in all price zones from the first to the second quarter this year. Prices in Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim increased the most, by 5.3 per cent. In Oslo and Bærum, prices increased by 2.5 per cent In Akershus exclusive Bærum and the rest of the country, prices increased by 4.8 and 4.6 per cent respectively, during the same period of time.
Detached houses increased the most
Prices of detached houses increased by 5.2 per cent on average, from the first to the second quarter of 2002. In comparison, prices of row houses and flats rose by 3.7 and 2.5 per cent respectively, during the same period of time. Detached houses in Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim increased the most, by 8.2 per cent.
Prices of flats increased the most during the last year
Prices of second hand dwellings increased by 6.7 per cent form the second quarter of 2001 to the second quarter of 2002. Stavanger, Bergen and Trondheim had the highest price growth, by 10.0 per cent. In Oslo and Bærum and the rest of the country, prices increased by 8.5 and 8.8 per cent respectively. Akershus exclusive Bærum had the lowest price growth. Here, prices increased by 2.6 per cent during the last year. Prices of detached houses and row houses increased by 5.6 and 6.2 per cent.
A total of 8 065 sales have been used in the calculation of the price index.
