The price is connected to the quarter in which the local authorities register the construction work as completed and not at the time of entering into the sales contract. Therefore, the price index for new detached houses intercepts large changes in the market with a delay of almost one year.

Prices of detached houses up 8.4 per cent

The prices of completed houses rose by 8.4 per cent in the third quarter 2000 compared with third quarter 1999. The prices decreased by 0.7 per cent in the third quarter 2000 compared with the second quarter 2000. Adjusted by seasonally variations the prices increased by 0.3 per cent during the same period.

In the first quarter 1993 the prices of completed houses were at an historical bottom level. Compared with this level the prices have increased by 63.2 per cent. The consumer price index rose 17.3 per cent during the same period.
