Price index for new detached houses, Q1 2001

The price is connected to the quarter in which the local authorities register the construction work as completed and not at the time of entering into the sales contract. Therefore, the price index for new detached houses intercepts large changes in the market with a delay of almost one year.

Prices of new detached houses up 8,7 per cent

As prices of completed houses rose by 8,7 per cent in the first quarter 2001 compared to the first quarter 2000, prices of second hand houses roses by 3,5 per cent.

The last three years the prices of new detached houses and second hand detached houses rose by 28,8 and 24 per cent respectively.

The prices increased by 0,7 per cent in the first quarter 2001 compared to the fourth quarter 2000. Adjusted by seasonally variations the prices increased by 1,4 per cent during the same period.
