Prices of new detached houses up 7.5 per cent
Prices of new detached houses increased by 7.5 per cent from the third quarter of 2001 to the third quarter of 2002. The prices increased by 2.9 per cent from the second to the third quarter last year. Adjusted by seasonal variations the prices increased by 3.0 per cent.
Prices of new detached houses reached a low point in the first quarter of 1993. Since then prices have increased by 91.2 per cent. In comparison, the consumer price index increased by 22.0 per cent during the same period of time.
A total of 703 observations have been used in the calculation of the price index.
