Increase in prices of new detached houses
Prices of new detached houses increased by 10.6 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2004 to the fourth quarter of 2005. From the third to the fourth quarter of 2005 the prices of such housing increased by 1.7 per cent.
Adjusted for seasonal variations, prices of new detached houses increased by 2,8 per cent from the third to the fourth quarter last year.
Prices of new detached houses reached a record low in the first quarter of 1993. Since then, the prices have increased by 122.2 per cent. In comparison, the consumer price index has increased by 29.2 per cent in the same period.
A total of 539 observations have been used in the calculation of the index.
