Wholesale prices decreased by 0.7 per cent
The wholesale prices decreased by a total of 0.7 per cent from 2nd quarter to 3rd quarter of 2001. From 3rd quarter 2000 to 3rd quarter 2001 the wholesale prices increased by 2.4 per cent.
The wholesale fuel price index decreased the most by 3.1 per cent from 2nd quarter to 3rd quarter of 2001. The wholesale prices of food, beverages and tobacco and the wholesale prices of non-agricultural intermediate products, waste and scrap both decreased by 1.3 per cent during the same period. The wholesale prices of electrical household appliances and radio and television goods, and the wholesale prices of furniture and non-electrical household articles both decreased by 0.1 per cent from 2nd quarter to 3rd quarter this year. During the same period the wholesale prices of wood, construction materials and sanitary equipment and wholesale prices of hardware, plumbing and heating equipment rose by respectively 0.7 and 0.5 per cent.
Hardware, plumbing and heating equipment increased by 4.8 per cent
The wholesale prices of hardware, plumbing and heating equipment rose by 4.8 per cent from 3rd quarter of 2000 to 3rd quarter of 2001. The wholesale prices of food, beverages and tobacco and the wholesale prices of wood, construction materials and sanitary equipment increased by 3.7 and 3.4 per cent during the same period. The wholesale fuel price index was unchanged. The wholesale prices of electrical household appliances and radio and television goods, and wholesale prices of furniture and non-electrical household articles decreased as the only ones by 1.4 and 1.1 per cent from 3rd quarter 2000 to 3rd quarter 2001.
