Increase in wholesale prices
The wholesale prices increased by 3.1 per cent from the 4 t h quarter 2002 to the 4 t h quarter 2003. From the 3 r d quarter to the 4 t h quarter 2003 the wholesale prices increased by 1.6 per cent.
Five of the six major groups concerning the price index for wholesale trade increased from the 4 t h quarter 2002 to the 4 t h quarter 2003. The wholesale prices of non-agricultural intermediate products, waste and scrap increased the most by 5.2 per cent while the wholesale prices of food, beverages and tobacco increased by 4.8 per cent. The wholesale prices of household goods were unchanged.
Fuel prices increased by 9.1 per cent
The wholesale prices of fuel increased by 9.1 per cent from the 4 t h quarter 2002 to the 4 t h quarter 2003. From the 4 t h quarter 2002 to the 4 t h quarter 2003 wholesale of textiles was the only group that showed a decrease, down by 1.1 per cent.
From the 3 r d quarter to the 4 t h quarter 2003 three of the six major groups concerning price index for wholesale trade increased. The wholesale prices of fuel increased the most by 6.5 per cent while the wholesale prices of non-agricultural intermediate products, waste and scrap increased by 3.2 per cent. The wholesale prices of agricultural raw materials and live animals decreased the most by 2.9 per cent during this period.
