Decrease in EEA consumer prices

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 109.6 (1996=100) in October, a decrease of 0.1 per cent from September. From October 2000 to October 2001 the HICP increased by 2.2 per cent. The year-to-year growth in September was 2.4 per cent.

The HICP for the Euro-zone was 109.6 in October, down by 0.1 per cent from September. The year-to-year growth in October was 2.4 per cent.

For Norway the HICP in October was 112.8, unchanged from September. From October last year the consumer prices have increased by 1.8 per cent.
