EEA consumer prices up 2.3 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 110.1 (1996=100) in February, an increase of 0.2 per cent from January. From February 2001 to February 2002 the HICP increased by 2.3 per cent while the year-to-year growth in January was 2.5 per cent.

The HICP for the Euro-zone was 110.2 in February, up 0.1 per cent from January. The year-to-year growth in February was 2.4 per cent, down from 2.7 per cent in January.

For Norway the HICP in February was 113.3, up 0.4 per cent from January. The year-to-year change in the consumer prices declined from 0.9 per cent in January to 0.4 per cent in February.
