Year-to-year change of 1.8 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 111.3 (1996=100) in May, an increase of 0.1 per cent from April. From May 2001 to May 2002 the HICP was 1.8 per cent, compared to 2.2 per cent in April.

The HICP for the Euro-zone was 111.5 in May, up 0.1 per cent from April. The year-to-year growth in May was 2.0 per cent, down from 2.4 per cent in April.

For Norway the HICP in May was 113.8, which is up 0.2 per cent from April. The year-to-year change in the consumer prices declined by 0.4 per cent in May, compared to a decrease of 0.1 per cent in April.
