Annual growth in EEA of 2.1 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA rose by 2.1 per cent in 2002, compared with 0.8 per cent in Norway. HICP for the EEA was 112.0 (1996=100) in December. The year-to-year growth was 2.2 per cent.

The annual growth in the Euro-zone was 2.2 per cent in 2002. The HICP in the Euro-zone was 112.1 in December. The year-to-year growth in December was 2.3 per cent, up from 2.2 per cent in November.

For Norway the HICP was 115.7 in December, up 0.9 per cent from November. The year-to-year change in the consumer prices was 2.6 per cent.
