EEA consumer prices up 2.3 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 112.9 (1996=100) in March. The year-to-year change was 2.3 per cent, the same as in February. In comparison, the year-to-year growth in Norway was 3.2 per cent in March.

The HICP in the Euro-zone was 113.1 in March. The year-to-year growth in March was 2.4 per cent, the same as in February.

For Norway the HICP was 117.2 in March, down 0.6 per cent from February. From March 2002 to March 2003 the consumer prices rose by 3.2 per cent, down from 4.1 per cent in February.
