EEA consumer prices up 1.9 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 112.9 (1996=100) in April. The year-to-year change was 1.9 per cent, down from 2.3 per cent in March. In comparison, the year-to-year growth in Norway was 2.5 per cent in April.

The HICP in the Euro-zone was 113.2 in April. The year-to-year growth in April was 2.1 per cent, down from 2.4 per cent in March.

For Norway the HICP was 116.4 in April, down 0.7 per cent from March. From April 2002 to April 2003 the consumer prices rose by 2.5 per cent, down from 3.2 per cent in March.
