EEA consumer prices up 1.8 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 115.0 (1996=100) in April. The year-to-year change in April was 1.8 per cent in the EEA. In comparison, the HICP for Norway increased by 0.4 per cent in the same period.

The HICP in the Euro-zone was 115.5 in April. In advance, Eurostat estimated the year-to-year growth in April in the Euro-zone to 2.0 per cent, which turned out to be the actual price growth.

For Norway the HICP was 116.9 in April, up 0.2 per cent from March. From April 2003 to April 2004 the consumer prices increased by 0.4 per cent, up from a decrease of 0.4 per cent in March.
