EEA consumer prices up 2.3 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for the EEA was 115.5 (1996=100) in June. The year-to-year change in June was 2.3 per cent in the EEA. In comparison, the HICP for Norway increased by 1,3 per cent in the same period.

The HICP in the euro-zone was 115.9 in June. In advance, Eurostat estimated the year-to-year growth in June in the euro-zone to 2.4 per cent, which turned out to be the actual price growth.

For Norway the HICP was 117.0 in June, unchanged from May. From June 2003 to June 2004 the consumer prices increased by 1.3 per cent, up from 1.0 per cent in May.
