Harmonized index down 0.1 per cent

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway fell by 0.1 per cent from June to July. The decrease was mainly due summer sales of clothing and footwear.

The HICP for Norway stood at 116.9 (1996=100) in July this year compared with 115.1 in July last year. The year-to-year growth increased from 1.3 per cent in June to 1.6 per cent in July. Please see http://www.ssb.no/english/kpi_en/ for more details.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

EEA, EU and the euro-zone

The year-to-year growth in the HICP for the EU and the EEA was 2.3 per cent in June. The increase in the euro-zone was 2.4 per cent in the same period. Eurostat's preliminary estimate for the year-to-year growth in the euro-zone is 2.4 per cent in July.
