Harmonized index up 0.4 per cent

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway rose by 0.4 per cent from August to September. The increase was mainly due to higher prices of clothing.

The HICP for Norway stood at 117.1 (1996=100) in September this year compared with 115.8 in September last year. The year-to-year growth was 1.1 per cent in September, unchanged from August. Please see the Consumer Price Index for more details.

EEA, EU and the euro-zone

The year-to-year growth in the HICP for the EU and the EEA was 2.1 per cent in August. The increase in the euro-zone was 2.3 per cent in the same period. Eurostat's preliminary estimate for the year-to-year growth in the euro-zone is 2.2 per cent in September.
