Harmonized index up 0.5 per cent

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway increased by 0.5 per cent from February to March 2005. The increase is mainly due to higher prices of petrol, electricity, clothing and footwear.

The HICP for Norway stood at 117.7 (1996=100) in March 2005 compared with 116.7 in March last year. The year-to-year growth in March was 0.9 per cent, the same as in February.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The year-to-year growth in the HICP for the EU, the EEA and the euro-zone was 2.1 per cent in February 2005. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the euro-zone is 2.1 per cent for March 2005.
