HICP up 1.9 per cent last 12 months

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway remained unchanged from October to November 2005. From November 2004 to November 2005, the CPI increased by 1.9 per cent. The main factors behind the growth were price increases of energy goods petrol and electricity.

The HICP for Norway stood at 119.6 (1996=100) in November 2005, compared with 117.4 in November last year. The year-to-year growth for HICP in November was 1.9 per cent, the same as in October. See http://www.ssb.no/kpi_en/ for more details.

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The HICP for EEA and the euro-zone stood at 118.9 and 119.4, respectively in October 2005. The year-to-year growth was 2.4 per cent for EEA and 2.5 per cent for the euro-zone, both decreased by 0.1 percentage point from September. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the HICP for the euro-zone is 2.4 per cent for November 2005.
