Annual growth of 1.5 per cent

The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway rose by 1.5 per cent from 2004 to 2005. Price increases in the group: operation of personal transport equipment is of the major factors behind the annual growth.

The HICP for Norway stood at 119.5 (1996=100) in December 2005 compared with 117.2 in December the previous year. The year-to-year growth was 2.0 per cent in December, up from 1.9 per cent in November. Please see http://www.ssb.no/kpi_en/ for more details.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

EEA, EU and the euro-zone

The HICP for EEA and the euro-zone stood at 118.7 and 119.1, respectively in November 2005.

The year-to-year growth in the HICP for the EU and the EEA was 2.2 per cent in November. The increase in the euro-zone was 2.3 per cent in the same period. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the euro-zone is 2.2 per cent in December.
