HICP up 0.2 per cent

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway increased by 0.2 per cent from February to March 2006. The price rise can mainly be explained by increase in clothing prices.

The HICP for Norway stood at 101.6 (2005=100) in March 2006, compared with 99.2 in March 2005. The year-to-year growth for HICP in March was 2.4 per cent, down from 2.7 per cent in February 2006. See the Consumer Price Index for more details.

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The HICP for EEA and the euro-zone stood at 100.9 in February 2006. The year-to-year growth was 2.2 per cent for EEA and EU and 2.3 per cent for the euro-zone. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the HICP for the euro-zone is 2.2 per cent for March 2006.
