HICP up 0.1 per cent

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway increased by 0.1 per cent from April to May 2006. The year-to-year growth for HICP in May was 2.5 mainly due to price increases in energy products.

The HICP for Norway stood at 102.6 (2005=100) in May 2006, compared with 100.1 in May 2005. The year-to-year growth for HICP in May was 2.5 per cent, down from 2.8 per cent in April 2006. See the Consumer Price Index for more details.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The HICP for EEA and the euro-zone stood at 102.1 and 102.2 respectively in April 2006. The year-to-year growth was 2.3 per cent for EEA and EU while it was 2.4 per cent for the euro-zone. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the HICP for the euro-zone is 2.5 per cent in May 2006.
