Summersale results in decrease

The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for Norway decreased by 0.2 per cent from June to July 2006 mainly due to summersale on clothing and footwear.

The HICP for Norway stood at 102.2 (2005=100) in July 2006, compared with 99.9 in July 2005. The year-to-year growth for HICP in July was 2.3 per cent, up from 2.1 per cent in June 2006. See the Consumer Price Index for more details.

Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices

EEA, EU and euro-zone

The HICP for EEA and the euro-zone stood at 102.5 in June 2006. The year-to-year growth was 2.4 per cent for EEA and EU, while it was 2.5 per cent for the euro-zone. Eurostat's flash estimate for the year-to-year growth in the HICP for the euro-zone is 2.5 per cent in July 2006.
