Decreased HICP

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway decreased by 0.7 per cent from October to November 2008, mainly due to lower prices of electricity and transport.

Harmonized index of consumer prices

The HICP for Norway was 108.0 (2005=100) in November 2008, compared with 104.6 in November 2007. The year-to-year growth was 3.3 per cent in November 2008, compared with 5.1 per cent in October 2008. See the consumer price index for more details.

EEA, EU and euro area

The HICP in October was 109.4 for the EU and the EEA, while the HICP was 108.6 in the euro area. The year-to-year growth was 3.7 per cent for both the EU and the EEA, and 3.2 per cent for the euro area. In the euro area the year-to-year growth is estimated to 2.1 percent for November.
