HICP rose 0.1 per cent
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway increased by 0.1 per cent from September to October 2010. The prices on electricity and clothing both rose, while the prices on food and non-alcoholic beverages decreased.
The HICP for Norway was 111.6 (2005=100) in October 2010, compared to 109.7 in October 2009. The year-to-year growth was 1.7 per cent in October 2010, up 0.3 percentage point from September.

EU, EEA and the euro area
Provisional data for September 2010 shows that the HICP for both the EU and the EEA was 112.1, while the HICP for the euro area was 110.1. The year-to-year growth in the HICP in September was 2.2 per cent for both the EEA and the EU, while it was 1.8 per cent for the euro area. In the euro area, the year-to-year growth for October 2010 is estimated at 1.9 per cent.
