New weights in HICP in 2011

As from the January index in 2011 a new weighting is applied to the harmonised index of consumer prices for Norway based on the national accounts' figures for household consumption. In the CPI December has replaced July as price reference month, now coinciding with the HICP. The selection of representative goods and services has at the same time been revised and updated. This is now almost identical to the selection in the CPI, with the exception of imputed rentals for housing (approximately 12 per cent of the CPI). Lotteries and gambling, life insurance and financial intermediation services indirectly measured (FISIM) are also excluded from the HICP (approximately 5 per cent of the CPI). Read more here .
