Increased Harmonized Index
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) was 107.9 (1996=100) in November, an increase of 0.4 per cent from October. From November 1998 to November 1999 the HICP increased by 2.6 per cent. The year to year growth in October was 2.4 per cent.
The increase from October to November is due to a rise in tariffs on electricity and increased clothing prices.
