HICP up 0.1 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway increased by 0.1 per cent from October to November 2012. Increased electricity prices contributed most to the rise, while lower prices of airline fares pulled the HICP in the opposite direction.

The HICP for Norway was 114.1 (2005=100) in November 2012, compared to 113.1 in November 2011. The year-to-year growth was 0.9 per cent in November, up 0.1 percentage point from October.

EU, EEA and the euro area

Preliminary data for October 2012 show that the HICP for the EU and EEA was 119.3, while the HICP for the euro area was 116.7. The preliminary year-to-year growth in the HICP for October was 2.6 per cent for the EU and the EEA. In the euro area, the year-to-year growth was 2.5 per cent in October. The year-to-year growth for November 2012 in the euro area is estimated at 2.2 per cent.
