HICP up 0.7 per cent
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway increased by 0.7 per cent from January 2013 to February 2013. Higher prices of furniture and airline fares contributed most to the rise, while lower prices of books pulled the HICP in the opposite direction.

The HICP for Norway was 114.8 (2005=100) in February 2013, compared to 114.1 in February 2012. The year-to-year growth was 0.6 per cent in February, down 0.6 percentage points from the previous month.
EU, EEA and the euro area
Preliminary data for January 2013 show that the HICP for the EU and EEA was 118.6, and the corresponding figure for the euro area was 115.7. The preliminary year-to-year growth in the HICP for January was 2.1 per cent for the EU and the EEA, and 2.0 per cent in the euro area. The year-to-year growth for February 2013 in the euro area is estimated at 1.8 per cent.
