HICP down 0.5 per cent
The harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway decreased by 0.5 per cent from May to June 2013. Lower prices of electricity including grid rent contributed most to the fall. Other main contributors to the decrease were price falls in air fares, clothing and furniture.

The HICP for Norway was 115.4 (2005=100) in June 2013, compared to 113.3 in June 2012. The year-to-year growth was 1.9 per cent in June, up 0.1 percentage points from the previous month.

EU, EEA and the euro area
Preliminary data for May 2013 show that the HICP for the EU and EEA was 120.3, while the HICP for the euro area was 117.5. The preliminary year-to-year growth in the HICP for May was 1.6 per cent for both the EU and the EEA. In the euro area, the year-to-year growth was 1.4 per cent in May. The year-to-year growth for June 2013 in the euro area is estimated at 1.6 per cent.
