HICP up 0.2 per cent
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway rose by 0.2 per cent from September to October 2013. Higher prices of electricity and clothing contributed most to the increase, while lower prices of airfares and books pulled the HICP in the opposite direction.

The HICP for Norway was 116.6 (2005=100) in October 2013, compared to 114.0 in October 2012. The year-to-year growth was 2.3 per cent in October, down 0.3 percentage points from September.

EU, EEA and the euro area
Preliminary data for September 2013 show that the HICP was 120.5 for both the EU and the EEA, while the HICP for the euro area was 117.7. The preliminary year-to-year growth in the HICP for September was 1.3 per cent for the EU and the EEA. In the euro area, the year-to-year growth was 1.1 per cent in September. The year-to-year growth for October 2013 in the euro area is estimated at 0.7 per cent.
