HICP up 0.2 per cent
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway rose 0.2 per cent from October to November 2014. Higher prices of books contributed to pulling the HICP up, while lower prices of airfares pulled the HICP in the opposite direction.

The HICP for Norway was 119.0 (2005=100) in November 2014, compared to 116.7 the same month in the previous year. The year-to-year growth was 2.0 per cent in November, up 0.1 percentage point from October.

EU, EEA and the euro area
Preliminary data for October 2014 show that the HICP was 121.0 (2005=100) for both the EU and the EEA, while the HICP for the euro area was 118.0 (2005=100). The preliminary year-to-year growth in the HICP for October was 0.5 per cent for the EU and the EEA. In the euro area, the preliminary year-to-year growth was 0.4 per cent in October. The year-to-year growth for November in the euro area is estimated at 0.3 per cent.
