HICP up 0.3 per cent
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway rose 0.3 per cent from April to May. Higher airfares and prices of food and clothing contributed to pulling the HICP up, while lower prices on electricity and fuels pulled the HICP in the opposite direction.

The HICP for Norway was 120.2 (2005=100) in May 2015, compared to 117.9 the same month in the previous year. The year-to-year growth was 2.0 per cent in May, up 0.2 percentage points from April.

EU, EEA and the euro area
Preliminary data for April 2015 show that the HICP was 121.1 (2005=100) for the EU and 121.2 for the EEA, while the HICP for the euro area was 118.2 (2005=100). This corresponds to zero year-to-year growth in the HICP for the EU, the EEA and the euro area. The year-to-year growth for May in the euro area is estimated at 0.3 per cent.
Detailed figures for May 2015 will be published on Eurostat’s website on 17 June.
