HICP down 0.2 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway fell 0.2 per cent from June to July. Lower prices on electricity and clothing contributed to pulling the HICP down, while higher food prices pulled the HICP in the opposite direction.

The HICP for Norway was 120.3 (2005=100) in July 2015, compared to 118.5 the same month in the previous year. The year-to-year growth was 1.5 per cent in July, down 1.1 percentage points from June.

EU, EEA and the euro area

Preliminary data for June 2015 show that the HICP was 121.3 (2005=100) for both the EU and the EEA, while the HICP for the euro area was 118.5 (2005=100). The preliminary year-to-year growth in the HICP for June was 0.1 per cent for the EU, and 0.2 per cent for the EEA and the euro area. The year-to-year growth for July in the euro area is estimated at 0.2 per cent.
