HICP up 0.8 per cent

The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) for Norway rose 0.8 per cent from August to September. Higher prices on clothing, electricity and furniture contributed to pulling the HICP up, while lower prices on petrol pulled the HICP in the opposite direction.

The HICP for Norway was 121.1 (2005=100) in September 2015, compared to 118.8 the same month in the previous year. The year-to-year growth was 1.9 per cent in September, up 0.1 percentage points from August.

EU, EEA and the euro area

In August 2015, the HICP was 120.7 (2005=100) for the EU and 120.8 for the EEA, while the HICP for the euro area was 117.7 (2005=100). For the EU, this corresponds to zero year-to-year growth in the HICP, while the EEA and euro area both showed a 0.1 per cent growth in the period. For the euro area, the HICP is estimated to fall 0.1 per cent from September 2014 to September 2015.
