Second-hand detached houses 30 per cent cheaper than new detached houses
In 2012, the average price of second-hand detached houses was 30 per cent lower than the average price of new detached houses.

The average square metre price of new detached houses completed in 2012 was NOK 28 400 including building plot. The average square metre price of detached houses transferred in the second-hand market in the same year was NOK 20 000.
Large regional variations
The average square metre price of new detached houses varies from NOK 21 400 in Finnmark to NOK 48 200 in the capital city of Norway, Oslo. Stavanger is the second most expensive city, with an average square metre price of new detached houses of NOK 39 800.
Hedmark has the lowest price level for second-hand detached houses, with an average square metre price of NOK 13 300. This is about 45 per cent less than for new detached houses in the same county. In Oslo, the average square metre price of second-hand detached houses is NOK 41 000, 15 per cent below new detached houses.
