Stable price differences for detached houses
In 2013, the average price of secondhand detached houses was 70 per cent of the price of new detached houses. The ratio between the price of new and secondhand detached houses is almost unchanged from 2012.

The average square metre price of new detached houses completed in 2013 was NOK 29 423. The average square metre price of detached houses bought in the secondhand market in the same year was NOK 20 780.
Large regional variations
The average square metre price of new detached houses varies from NOK 23 001 in Sogn and Fjordane to NOK 53 680 in Norway’s capital city, Oslo. Stavanger is the second most expensive city, with an average square metre price for new detached houses of NOK 42 332.
The average square metre price of secondhand detached houses varies from NOK 14 162 in Hedmark to NOK 41 948 in Oslo. Hedmark is the county with the largest price difference between new and used detached houses, with a square metre price for secondhand detached houses 43 per cent below the price of new ones.
