Rise in price of Manufactured Goods

The Price Index of First-hand Domestic Transaction showed an increase of 0.1 per cent from September to October. The main contributor to this increase was manufactured goods classified chiefly by material, with an increase of 07 per cent. The 12-month rate increased from 2.3 to 2.4 per cent.

Chemicals and crude materials, inedible, except fuels also contributed to the rise. Other groups as well show minor increases. Nevertheless, the total index rose by only 0,1 per cent because of falling prices in two major groups - food, and mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials.

For the first time since February there was a drop in prices in the group mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials. The index decreased by 0.4 per cent, mainly because of lower import prices of crude oil and related products. Like last month the prices fell in the group food and live animals. This time the decrease was 0.3 per cent. The main reasons for this are a fall in the prices of mutton, animal food and coffee. The increased price of imported fruits pulls in the opposite direction.

According to end use the price of consumer goods increased by 0.1 per cent from September to October. Accordingly, the 12-month rate remains at 1.9 per cent.
