The decline in prices continues

The price index of first-hand domestics sales continues to decrease. From May to June it went down by 1.5 per cent. This decline is mainly due to lower prices on mineral fuels.

Prices of mineral fuels, lubricants and electric currents decreased by 6.6 per cent from May to June. The decline is the largest since last November. Prices of chemical products decreased by 0.6 per cent, while machinery and transport equipment went down 0.3 per cent. Prices of food and crude materials showed the highest increase.

Overall prices fell by 6.5 per cent compared with the prices last June. This is mainly due to prices of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials declining about 22 per cent. Prices of crude materials are falling as well.

The development of the 12-month rate

The 12-month rate for the total index continues to decline, and went from -5.5 per cent in May to

-6.5 in June. This development is mainly due to lower prices on mineral fuels, lubricants and electric current, which went from -17.6 per cent in May to -22.3 per cent in June.

Lower prices of chemical products, miscellaneous articles and machinery and transport equipment also contributed to the overall development.
