Electricity prices increased

The price index of first-hand domestic sales increased by 0.1 per cent from October to November. This was mainly caused by an increase in prices of electricity and food, but oil prices however declined.

Prices of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials decreased by 2.9 per cent from October to November, but within this group price of electricity went up 27 per cent. Since July these prices of electricity increased about 80 per cent. Petroleum and petroleum products counteracted this with a 12.6 per cent decrease since last month. Prices of food products went up 0.9 per cent, and the strongest increase occurred in prices of vegetables, fruit and fish.

The overall domestic market showed an increase of 0.8 per cent. Higher prices of electricity and food contributed to this development.

The 12-month rate: 3.5 per cent increase

The overall 12-month rate was 3.5 per cent. This development was mainly due to prices of mineral fuels, lubricants and related minerals, increasing 15.2 per cent. Electricity contributed to this development with an increase of 64 per cent.

Most main groups showed a decline. Prices of food showed a decrease of nearly 1 per cent. This was mainly caused by lower prices of fish and vegetables, 7.7 and 5.9 per cent respectively. Monthly prices of food and food products have decreased almost the entire year, while last prices increased. Crude materials decreased by 5.5 per cent.
